The University of Idaho Kimberly Potato Storage Research program is dedicated
to multiple areas of research pertaining to current potato storage issues.
The Potato Storage Research Facility was built in 1991 with nine individually
controlled bins. Each bin can store up to 2,000 cwt (200,000 lbs) and mimic
a slice out of a commercial storage building. These storage bins have state
of the art computerized climate control systems with the ability to alter
temperature, humidity and ventilation.
