Potatoes, beans, foundation seed,
water quality and management
The Kimberly Research and Extension Center is located northeast of
Kimberly about six miles east of Twin Falls. The center has
approximately 180 acres of irrigated farm, four greenhouses, a dry
bean research facility complete with laboratories, a seed cleaning
complex, seed warehouse, and a potato storage research facility. The
site also provides field and greenhouse facilities to various
extension faculty located at the
Twin
Falls R&E Center and the
Aberdeen
R&E Center. We also share facilities and resources with the
USDA Agricultural Research Service Northwest Irrigation
and Soils Research Laboratory. Some offices and laboratories
are located in the USDA-ARS facility across the road from the farm, while
others are now housed in our Dry Bean Research Facility.
We invite you to visit our facilities if you are in the area. We are
located at mile post 1, State Highway 50. If you are traveling
Interstate I-84, take exit 182 and turn south -- you can't miss us.
While you are in the area, you may want to visit Shoshone Falls and Twin
Falls (falls); these sites are within 5 minutes of the center.
